Chapter Theme
When Care Becomes Culture: The Vital Role of the Psychosocial First Responder in Organizations Care so that you learn, practice, and sustain yourself.
This chapter presents a practical, ethical, and deeply human approach to mental health at work, connecting the increase in emotional suffering in organizations to recent legal requirements, such as the update to NR-1. Based on real experiences, critical cases, and experiences in the corporate context, the text highlights the existing gap in the management of emotional emergencies and proposes the Psychosocial First Responder as a structured and applicable solution.
Throughout the chapter, concepts, skills, and protocols for action in the face of crises such as anxiety, suicidal ideation, and psychotic episodes are explored, in addition to the role of organizational culture in prevention and ongoing care.
More than a concept, the Psychosocial First Responder is presented as a strategic agent in building psychologically safe, sustainable, and truly human environments.
