About Dr. Claudio Lottenberg
Graduated in Medicine from the Paulista School of Medicine at the Federal University of São Paulo (1984), Master's in Ophthalmology from the Paulista School of Medicine at the Federal University of São Paulo (1990), Doctorate in Medicine (Ophthalmology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1994). He completed his medical residency at the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (1987) and specialized in Ophthalmological Emergencies at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat (1989).
Currently, he is the President of the Board of the Albert Einstein Brazilian Israeli Beneficent Society and the Israeli Confederation of Brazil. He is also the Institutional President of the Coalition Health Institute, Lide Saúde, Conib (Israeli Confederation of Brazil), and a Member of the Federal Economic and Social Development Council.
He served as the Secretary of Health for the city of São Paulo during José Serra's administration.
In 2009, he received the Moacyr Álvaro Medal, the most important award in the field of ophthalmology across Latin America.
He was the President of the Brazilian Society of Laser and Ophthalmic Surgery – Management 2007 to 2009. He is the former president of the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital and an Advisory Council Member for UNICEF.
He has been a member of the Superior Health Council of the State of São Paulo and the Council of the Department of Economic Development and Health of São Paulo. He is a Visiting Professor at Harvard University (USA), a tenured professor of public health policy in the MBA Health course at the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital, and a member of the São Paulo Medical Academy. He also participates in a special class for students and guests at FIA Online.
He is the author of the books: “A Saúde Brasileira Pode Dar Certo” (Brazilian Health Can Work), published by Atheneu, 1st Edition, December 2006; “Cidadania - A Tecnologia ao Serviço do Paciente e Não ao Contrário” (Citizenship – Technology Serving the Patient, Not the Other Way Around), published by Atheneu, 1st Edition; and co-author of the book “A Revolução Digital na Saúde: Como a Inteligência Artificial e a Internet das Coisas Tornam o Cuidado Mais Humano, Eficiente e Sustentável” (The Digital Revolution in Health: How Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things Make Care More Human, Efficient, and Sustainable), published by Editora dos Editores, 1st Edition.
